PictureUniversity of North Carolina Wilmington (Fall)
A US. Department of Education Guidance School survey found that students only spent an average of thirty-eight minutes discussing college admissions with public school counselors per year.

It's not that they don't want to, many don't have the time. While that average continues to increase, the coronavirus pandemic has upended postsecondary education.

Whether parents enroll their teenagers in public school, private school, or decide to educate their children from home, college-bound students may need more personalized attention and support. For those who remain in the public classroom, only thirty-one percent of high schools have a counselor designated as a college specialist and only twenty-nine percent of all counselors have time to spend on college readiness counseling.

I want to partner with you to invest in the lives of your college-bound student or the students you oversee at church, at your library, on your team, in your after-school program, in your for-profit organization, in your school, in your parenting group, and in your scouting troop by helping them fill in the gaps about career and college planning.

Parents who don't have time to sit with their students' school counselor or do their own research need solutions. Inviting an educational consultant like myself to speak is one step that can help buffer concerns and build confidence.
